OF TOM TISCHLER
Tom’s
interest in music began when he was first introduced to the Blues
when he was 13. Listening to the masters of the art form such
as Albert Collins, B.B. King, and Stevie Ray Vaughan, Tom started to seriously
study the guitar as well as the approaches to Blues and other
improvised music. This eventually led Tom to Jazz.
Upon finishing high school, Tom began his formal
music studied at the renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston MA. He
completed his education at McGill University in Montreal QC where he
received a Bachelors of Music degree in Jazz Performance.
While in Montreal Tom began his professional performing
career, and also began teaching privately as well. This sparked his interest in
music education that continues to today. Tom now lives, teaches and
performs in Toronto. He continues to study with some of the many talented
musicians in the Toronto area. |
